What exactly does a concierge do for my vacation?

Get Away Costa Rica handles the logistics so you can dive into the adventure. This includes designing custom itineraries, scheduling and coordinating activities, assisting with self-directed adventures, and providing ongoing support before, during, and after your trip.​​

Is there a fee for your concierge services?

No. Our planning and concierge services are provided at no additional cost. In fact, you can often get activities, transportation, and lodging for less when you choose our no-additional-cost concierge service. While online booking sites often add hidden fees into their pricing, we find high-end services and lodging for reasonable prices. Our goal is to provide a premium, seamless experience that is more cost-effective than booking it yourself. To begin the detailed planning and booking process, we require a $300.00 retainer. This is not a fee—100% of this retainer is applied directly toward your activities, transportation, and lodging.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

At Get Away Costa Rica, we strive to provide exceptional service and support. Because we work with multiple hotels, tour operators, and transportation partners, all cancellations and refunds are subject to the individual policies of each provider. 1. Trip Planning & Concierge Retainer If you choose to cancel your trip, this retainer is non-refundable. However, it remains available as a credit for you to use toward a future trip within one year of the original booking date. 2. Hotel, Tour & Transportation Bookings When reservations are made through us, the cancellation and refund terms are determined by the specific provider. We will always communicate these policies to you before booking confirmation. Common examples include: Full Refunds: Free cancellation if canceled within the provider’s allowed window (typically 15–30 days before arrival). No Refunds: For last-minute cancellations, within 48 hours, or no-shows, Changes to Reservations Date changes or modifications are subject to availability and the provider’s policies. Please note that some changes may incur additional fees from the supplier. Not all services are able to be modified. 4. No-Show Policy If a traveler does not arrive for a confirmed hotel, tour, or transportation service, refunds are not available, per supplier rules. 5. What happens if a tour is canceled due to weather?

In Costa Rica, safety is the priority. If a provider (such as a white-water rafting or catamaran operator) cancels due to heavy rain, wind, or volcanic activity, they will typically offer to reschedule you for another day. If rescheduling isn't possible, a refund or credit is usually issued according to that specific provider's policy. What if I need to leave my trip early?
